The Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) supports renewable electricity projects in Ireland. RESS is a competitive auction scheme designed to help achieve Ireland’s renewable energy ambitions at the lowest cost to consumers.

A key aspect of RESS is that local communities benefit directly from renewable energy projects. For every Megawatt hour of electricity generated by a project successful in a RESS auction, €2 is contributed to a community benefit fund. This contribution empowers community benefit funds to improve the local community's economic, environmental, social, and cultural well-being. 

This website is designed to showcase data from the Community Benefit Fund National Register.  Using the map, it is possible to view Community Benefit Funds throughout the country and investigate them in more detail. The interactive dashboard allows you to break down Community Benefit Data into a more granular level. The case studies show a snapshot of some of the projects availing of community benefit funds across Ireland.
